Series Four[]
The fourth series first aired on the 7th of January 2009 and finished after 20 episodes on the 20th of May 2009. The first series of Waterloo Road aired in the UK on Wednesdays at 8.00pm GMT on BBC One. It received an average of 4.76 million viewers per episode.
Plot[]
The fourth series continues from the events of the fire at the end of series three leaving the fate of several staff members and pupils unknown.
The Kelly family arrive at Waterloo Road and bring many problems with them. Alcoholic mother Rose Kelly and her five children make life difficult for everyone at Waterloo Road. Maxine Barlow is also tragically killed by Earl Kelly at the end of the series.
Also in series four new head of PE Rob Cleaver trains Bolton Smiley using pills that give him an unfair advantage, and Rachel's past is revealed following the arrival of her sister and nephew. And also Chlo Grainger gives birth to a baby girl named after her mother and her and Donte decide to rekindle their relationship after the birth. Series four also sees Kim Campbell return with a baby girl she claims to have given birth to but has actually smuggled her from Rwanda.

DVD Release[]
The fourth series of Waterloo Road was released in three different box sets. The first 10 episodes were released on DVD in September 2009, and the last 10 were released on a seperate DVD in April 2010. All episodes were then released together in a DVD set in October 2010.
